My extremely limited (high school plays) experience with acting caused me to decide it wasn't for me. Even at that extremely amateur level, I felt drained, exhausted, and strangely hollow after every rehearsal and performance. I was a human eggshell, and I didn't like it.

I have never wondered why some actors become drug addicts or emotional powder kegs or get into bad relationships with questionable individuals.
