So I'm puttering around, and discover my friend [livejournal.com profile] edg has friended my writing/chapbook announcement list, [livejournal.com profile] annotatechapbk. I'm not sure why this would surprise me, but it did, and in a nice way. It's a little reminder that through gaming, through In Nomine, and through conversations and Livejournal, some real friendships can appear. I also learned some things about him (like the fact that the character from Gaming Guardians was named after him, and not vice versa), which reminds me that my friends actually have lives that don't have anything to do with me.

This is daunting, almost. But then, I've always had a touch of 'delusion of reference,' which in virulent cases makes you think the TV has messages for you and leads to world conquest. The more important thing is, it led me to actually read Gaming Guardians. As it turns out, it's really good, and a nice twist on ReBoot and gaming in general. Why they haven't sent the gang through In Nomine is beyond me -- I'd think edg alone would make it worth their while.

In other news, I still have a divot taken out of my side. Healing sucks. The wound itches and the last couple of days has been tender and uncomfortable, in part because the medical tape has irritated my skin. On the other hand, it's not nearly as inconvenient as blinding pain and fever. And, after a long, hard week, it was a really nice Saturday. Only, I don't know why I'm awake at 5 in the morning.

Ah well. To bed!

Eh? You have an abscess to remove, or something else?

Gotcha. I had a friend who needed that done last Christmas. It went really smoothly. The techniques are pretty slick now.

Good luck with it. It should go fine.

The irritating thing is that I still don't have a password to access the Annotations site, although that's mostly my fault. ;)

Good luck on the healing (and sleeping!). Let me know if there's anything I can do for you, hey? :)

Possibly... too simple...

Thanks. :) I read through "On Call" on a whim this morning before I started work. Nice stuff. :)

Thanks. I think I'll give it a brief polish (mostly revising the ultrasound scene, as I now know that ultrasound equipment is A) in Radiology, not Obstetrics and B) used as a common diagnostic tool for many conditions. It's a minor point, really).

Thanks for the comment!
