So, I did a locked post recently where I entered the world of Drabbling. I locked it to a smaller list because... well, I didn't know if I'd enjoy doing it.

This just in: I enjoy doing it. So, I'm going to unlock the resulting drabble posts, here, and here,, and I'm going to repost the core drabble information for general public consumption.

(If you've already requested a drabble, you may consider this an invitation to request a second. Yay!)

Reposting the rules begins... now!

The "Drabble" is a 100 word fragment of fan fiction. Sort of like an Anacrusis, only not.

Anyway, I asked a friend for a drabble, and I'm asking another one for another, and so by the rules of God and the militant cats I have to open myself up to them too.

So, I'll give you some topics, and at request, I'll do 100 words on something within those topics based on your guidelines. I reserve veto rights on crossovers, however. And if you ask, you also have to offer this in your own LJ. Because... well, Dude. Rules of God and militant cats.

The official rules:

"Every person on your flist gets to request a drabble (real drabble: 100 words exactly) from you. In return, they have to post this in their journal and write a drabble for you. Post all fandoms you're willing to write for. Your friends can pick a relationship, a story arc, a missing scene, or pretty much anything they want, unless the author has previously mentioned that they will not write it. They comment with what they want, and you write drabbles and post it in your LiveJournal."

The potential topics:

Dead Inside: Chad Underkoffler has done this to me.
Gossamer Commons: Restrict this to characters who have already appeared, if you please. If you're in the know about the future, anyway.
The Kids in the Hall: Because no one else will.
Imperial Space: This is the SF world Trigger Man and stuff like that was set in. It's all mine, so suggestions for little drops would be pretty cool.
In Nomine: I know from In Nomine. I'm always good for a hundred words on it.
Jack Chick: The king of the Chick Tract himself. Wednesday infected my brain with him. Now it's my turn!
Legion of Super Heroes: I should have one core "fan fiction" thing. Note -- this is the original, Adventure through Levitz Legion.
Narbonic: Because... well, because I like it! And I want to buy the RPG.
Nobilis: Can one be epic in 100 words?
Superguy: Because, well, duh.
Sfstory: See Superguy, above.

While this is certainly a keen idea, and while I am sore tempted to poke the Narbonic Fanfic button (since the world unquestionably needs more of it) I fear that my own fandom list (excepting Narbonic itself) is composed of outdated and/or totally obscure items, and I am too ashamed to list them. More's the pity.

Dude, I'm willing to force my own lack-luster writing skills on people if it means I get a Masked Bruce mini-story...

Obscure is perfectly legitimate. As for outdated... two of the ten drabbles I've already done were for the Kids in the Hall.

Besides, you're too good a writer to not want to see do this.

Hi, I'm Allen. I'm an English grad student specializing in medieval British literature--just got through translating Beowulf--and I was just going to post this idea in my journal but, having noticed that I was on your friends list, I think I'll take you up on this; after all, the rules specify that I get to request. So! I'll kindly request Kids in the Hall, thanks. Reading what you've already done on the subject makes me thirst for more.

And since my own experience with writing fanfiction--well, writing any form of fiction, actually--is limited, this will be a nice time to stretch my own muscles.

All right, crap, I'm in.

Eric, have a stab at either straight-up Narbonic or a Narbonic / Simon and Hecubus crossover.

(Lord, what geeks these mortals be.)

Okay, I'll do it! Eventually. Promise.

My request: Narbonic fic, including somewhere the words "worst evil plan ever".

What Trudy/SG would write as a guest snarker on Websnark. Subject matter to be snarked up to you.

PS: You do realize that your color scheme makes the casual viewer think that anonymous postings are verboten, yes? Not that I particularly had a reason for not joining LJ, but still. :)
