(I once knew a guy who, in a fit of pique over my decision to read up on a political cause that someone I was seeing at the time supported, declared that he felt it would be beneath me to "swallow a man's bibliography." A week or so later, I went out, bought my first dildo, and named it Bibliography. God only knows what kind of toy I'd have to buy in order to latch onto someone's lexicon.)
