They've been moving the servers around. Email wonkiness is an artifact of that.

Yep. Apparently, IIRC the--news or status, one of those--post, they just stored up a bunch of notifications while they were trying to get various ISPs to realize that they still weren't spammers. Now that they've got the spamblocker issue taken care of, they're sending out all the notifications that were in the queue but never sent, which was...a lot.

(See, this is why I keep news and lj_maintainance and stuff friended; it's so much easier to spot the answers to "why am I getting ridiculously delayed e-mail" and "how are you going to pay me back for ridiculous amounts of downtime (if I'm a paid user)" quickly. [laughs])

How did you get your template to work in the comment pages? All you get is the default LJ template when you hit the leave comment link. Do I have to have a paid account to get that to work?
