So, a number of people have agreed with my GPF snark. A number have disagreed. Good enough. That's the nature of the beast.

However, I just read one person who was staunchly against it... and who hadn't read it. Seems she was offended by the word "Websnark."

I recognized from the beginning that the name 'websnark' might cause a reaction in some people. I can deal.

But to then post a rant about the essay you haven't read?

Frankly, that's the funniest thing I've read all day. I feel important now.

There's a bunch of people who've friended me since long, long after I had my surgery. So I should probably go over some of the basics for them. Everyone else -- it's been a while, so it's time for an update.

In March of this year, I had a Gastric Bypass. We had to fight very long and very hard for me to get it, because... well, because I was going to die, otherwise. And we got it through. It was very successful. I've lost over 120 lbs so far since then. I'm now thinking in terms of living for decades instead of years. Life is good.

But there's a few... difficulties. Expected ones, but difficulties nonetheless. I mean, I've had extensive under hood work done to my G-I tract. Things change when that happens. And sometimes... though very rarely, at this point... there's trouble, when I eat the wrong thing.

Or don't chew my food enough.

Or eat a little too fast.

I think it's item two, tonight. There's a bad knot of pain in my stomach, and I keep frothing (which is a mucus-filled version of vomiting -- I told you this was a TMI post). Sadly, I don't seem to be frothing enough to get the blockage out. So I'm probably in for a full night of discomfort, followed by frothing when the mucus builds up too much. Until the mucus manages to push the blockage through, that is. (There's no stomach acid involved, that's all in the part of my stomach that's no longer being used.)

It doesn't put me in a bad mood, though. When it was happening four or five times a week, I got kind of sick of it, but these days, it just seems like my stomach reminding me of the new rules.

And besides, I've lost over a hundred and twenty pounds. What's a little vomit and mucus compared to that?
