The Prosperina story is beautiful and brilliant, and a perfect re-working of that particular myth. It reminds me, around the colder edges, of Til We Have Faces, which continues to be my favorite myth retelling ever. I also have a certain fondness for stories in that size range; there's something about the 7-15k stories that are too long for proper 'short' stories but too short to be real novellas that hits a certain sweet spot of detail and snappiness.
