Something I found in my early morning blog glancing.

"Can I share information about new developments in Science Fiction?" I asked.

"Yes! Yes!" he enthused. "This you can do, and more!"

"Can I discuss Science Fiction Fandom, conventions, and other fannish activity?" I asked.

"Yes! Yes! Discuss them like the mighty wind, you can!" he cried, sweeping the flaming staff through the air in a great arc.

"Can I pull a new word out of my ass and get it into Wikipedia?" I asked.

"No, so sorry," he said, "you cannot. But you can pull other things out of your ass!"

Cuuuuuuute.

Anyway. If this means more regular updating of SFBlog, I'm all for it. Though I seriously wonder why they're not using the changing of the guard to implement per-entry comments. It seems like they're shooting for a community rather than simply being a news and information site, and community building begins with the capacity to participate and discuss.

On the other hand, the drama implicit in something like Science Fiction Fandom might lead to frightening consequence. (Though I doubt it would be significantly more intense than, say, Webcomics fandom.)
