What you can barely hear, at least in the version I listened to, was the other guy giving a "whatevah, I'm sorry!" poor excuse for an apology. Nothing is more likely to wind a guy FURTHER up than having the thing that upsets him treated trivially, particularly more than once. It doesn't surprise me that Bale keeps after him; he doesn't think he's being taken seriously.
