A minor Star Trek comment

This is just spoilery enough that I'll put it behind the cut of cutting.
Chekov is Wesley Crusher written correctly.
Seriously. He's a whiz kid and a vunderkind and capable of working out the math to save Kirk and Sulu falling at terminal velocity in his head. He's good enough to be on the bridge of the Federation starship. And yet he's also awkward, socially inept and slightly gawky.
If that had been how Wesley Crusher had been written, we wouldn't have hated him. Wil Wheaton must have watched that movie and wished for a Wesley Crusher written that way.
