Actually ... they moved the students out because the flooding took out the sewage treatment plant and water processing system.

No showers and no safe toilets means boot the students.

Heh. Someone should tell the article Eric linked to ["Classes were canceled and students were moved from the University of Maine at Fort Kent to pave the way for a shelter, where a handful of people took up residence Wednesday night"], but fair enough.

According to another article they were moved out due to lack of good water. They might be using the Gym as a shelter though.
