A while ago I read a very interesting post about using little colored stones in roleplaying games to represent "one-time bonuses". I remember there were three or four different colors, of various powers, pulled out of a bag, and the "top color" was meant to signify a major plot-changing event. The players would pull (some number) out of the bag at the beginning of a session and then spend them as they went.
I think it was talked about in terms of a Champions game. I think you and The Ferrett are the only people I know who write well about Champions, and I already searched his journal via LJ Seek, but I can't search yours because LJ Seek sucks. (Seriously, it keeps giving me his posts when I try searching your journal. What the fuck.)
Was this you? Or, at least, do you know what I'm talking about? If so, can you point me in roughly the direction of the post? :)
