Why am I blogging so much today? Two reasons. First, because I have a new toy (iJournal), and that has my attention. Second, because work is conspiring to drag me down, so I’m using Livejournal as a pressure valve.

Can I just say how much RSS Syndication rocks? I’ve just discovered my friend [livejournal.com profile] ardellis not only is currently running a really neat Movable Type based journal site, but that as with many, she has Syndication enabled.

So now her posts are showing up on my Friends page.

That is so cool!

So, how do you add RSS feeds to your friends list? I run RSS feeds from both my blogs and am keen to spread the lov...uh...wisdom.

http://www.livejournal.com/syn/ will show you the place where it can be done. Once you've set up syndication for your site, you can let other people know what account name to use, and they can just add it like they add other Friends (as far as I know).

Further, the more people who sign up for your syndicated Blog, the less 'units' it takes to sign up. We all can officially sign up to 10 unique syndicated feeds, but whenever we sign up for the same one, we divide the 'cost' among us. So, for example, Wil Wheaton's syndication account currently only costs .230 of a unit because of all the people using it, while my creation of the Ardellis syndication stream costs me a full 1.0 units until someone else joins in.
