Okay, over my bed in this hotel, there is a symbol. Of a wire coat hanger, with one of those red circles with the slash through it. You know. The "No Smoking" symbol. Over a wire hanger.

Either this was Joan Crawford's hotel room, or the management is explicitly prohibiting back alley abortions in this bed.

Agreed. It translates (to the best of my knowledge) as "Don't hang anything from the sprinkler head." Of course, WHY anyone would hang something from a sprinkler head rather than using the closet is beyond me, but whatever.

I suspect there was also a sprinkler head close to your bed. Perhaps you noticed the sign but not the sprinkler?
