Date: 2005-01-01 06:19 pm (UTC)I suppose picking any given day of the year as New Years is arbitrary--one of the solstices undoubtedly would have a better claim--but there IS a pretty well defined jaunt around the sun that one couldn't claim as arbitrary, I mean, a year really does MEAN something, it's not just a human constructed category...
